I had no choice, I knew nothing about brakes, and even if I
did, I don't have the tools, the time, or the place
to work on my brakes. My brakes had not been checked
since I got her in Feb. 2004. I called around to Midas,
Meineke, and Just Brakes in Jan. 2005. Here is what
I found out before I went.

Even if you
cannot complete the work yourself, you can
be an informed buyer and look at what they
say needs to be replaced and judge for yourself.
For example, I did not think that the calibers
or springs needed to be replaced like "recommended",
they just looked dusty, but fine. Pictures,
prices and more tables are on the following
pages.
Brake items they fixed
are in red.

I have
disc in the front and drum in the back.
R=right, L=Left,
F=Front, R=Rear. They explained to me what
they were doing and why. I am satisfied
with the brakes. The prices, however, seemed
a little high, but when you are without
a vehicle, do you have the choice to get
the parts yourself?
Brake
Pads for the Rear
There are certain things
to look for when looking at brakes. For
the most part, logic plays a large role.
If they say you need a knew wire or spring
and it is broken, you should probably replace
it. If it seems to be in good working condition
with no major rust or worn spots, then it
might not cause the driver any problems.
If you need to know what they are suppose
to look like, ask them to show you the new
one and compare your parts to the new ones.
